We hired Dominic’s van for a 10 day trip around the Western Isles. Dominic was easy to communicate with and gave us a good handover and highlighted how to operate the van. We found the van easy to drive, mechanically sound and economical on fuel. The bedding and linen provided was warm and clean. However, We found the interior to be cramped, outdated and the kitchen area was a let down. The battery electrics were unreliable so the fridge did not work at times. Though the van had quirky charm, it felt more like an ‘old lady’ past her prime. For the price we expected much better. It was overpriced for the condition and minimal camping functionality. Reaktion von Dominic Thank you for your feedback. Regarding the compact size of FreeDom, this is a selling point for most renters. The NC500 is mostly single track roads not suitable for larger more equipped vehicles. Larger more equiped vehicles will also come at a significant increase in costs. The Liesure battery was replaced in May, it would appear to need replaced again.
