Reaktion von Stephen Ok. Let's start with the first point. Agree, minor delay due to unforseen circumstances with water pump on pickup was not ideal. (Delayed by about an hour at the most) which a suitable work around was provided (involves pressing a button when you want water before switching on the tap & manually switching off again - big deal!?). Not sure what he means about the heating but on the grounds he had the van less than 48 hours and never notified me there was a problem, crystal ball wasn't working that day - not much I can do. Yes very unfortunate the van broke down. It had just been serviced and MOTd but as everyone knows, this doesn't necessarily guarantee trouble free motoring. I luckily had another motorhome (Not something many other people could provide at zero notice) but unfortunately due to the absence of the crystal ball, was not 100% ready to go out (hence some mold in the fridge from over the winter with the fridge being off). I dropped everything I was doing that day & cancelled all my own plans. I delivered the replacement van as quick as possible to Inverness (35 miles away). Bob & Jackie were advised to transfer everything over that they needed. Yes in the commotion, turned out the van was about £30 short in diesel when we swapped. For that I apologize however, there was a lot to cover about the new van and unfortunately forgot to give this money in the commotion of transferring vans. I also had a fair walk back to get a train - a position I put myself in to save time for Bob & Jackie. This is probably as far as I can agree with Bob's story. Having lost 1/2 a day due to the breakdown, I offered Bob & Jackie an extra free day hire at the end of their holiday to which they agreed. Unfortunately I found out one day before the van was due to be returned that Jackie had taken unwell and gone into hospital. Being the helpful person I am (as you can see from my other reviews), I offered Bob free extra days on top of his hire as he wasn't sure when Jackie would get out of hospital and would need somewhere to stay with his dogs. My exact words "whatever you need Bob, I'll help" Received a last minute call to say Jackie had been released from hospital and that he was at my house dropping off my van (Lucky someone was in at the time at home but it wasn't me). The van was dropped off and they were on their way home before I even had a chance to get home. Bob & Jackie rented the van from me as they are considering getting one for themselves. Got some news for you Bob - Motorhomes do require some level of thought and problem solving. They do go wrong occasionally and you have to be prepared to deal with unexpected issues. It is not a hotel on wheels - It's Glamping at the end of the day. As already explained to you re the heater, there is a limit to how much current you can draw at once. (Standard stuff for a caravan or motorhome) Received no contact back after the van was dropped off. Just a scathing review out of the blue over £30 he was short on due to the change of vehicle. Or maybe he was hoping for a days hire refunded as well because his plans had changed again? Not a mention of the going above and beyond to rescue the holiday or offer of help when Jackie was in hospital. If you want to rent your van to someone who is a miserable pessimist, where nothing is ever good enough, Bob is your man. Would not hire to them ever again.
