ARTICLE 1: PURPOSE AND SCOPE
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale apply automatically, without restriction or reservation, to any purchase of accommodation services (rental of a bare pitch; rental accommodation), catering services, entertainment services or any other services offered by Les Chamberts Camping, hereinafter referred to as the “Campsite”, to consumers and non-professional customers, hereinafter referred to as the “CUSTOMER”.
The main characteristics of the services are presented on the Campsite’s website, leschamberts.com. The CUSTOMER is required to read them before placing any order. The choice or purchase of a service is the sole responsibility of the CUSTOMER. The Campsite’s Internal Rules are available on the website leschamberts.com and are displayed within the Campsite.
These Terms and Conditions and the Internal Rules apply to the exclusion of any other terms and conditions, particularly those applicable to other sales channels or online platforms.
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale and the Internal Rules are systematically provided to every CUSTOMER prior to the conclusion of the service contract and shall prevail, where applicable, over any other version or contradictory document.
The CUSTOMER declares that they have read and accepted these General Terms and Conditions of Sale and the Internal Rules before entering into the service contract. Validation of the service order by the CUSTOMER constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale and the Internal Rules.
As these General Terms and Conditions of Sale may subsequently be amended, the version applicable to the CUSTOMER’s purchase shall be the version in force on the date the contract is concluded.
ARTICLE 2: BOOKING CONDITIONS
Bookings are strictly nominative and may under no circumstances be transferred, assigned or sublet, failing which the booking shall be deemed null and void.
Minors must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
The Campsite reserves the right to refuse a CUSTOMER who has previously caused damage, breached safety regulations or disturbed the peaceful enjoyment of other guests.
2.1 QUOTATION
A booking made online, by email or by telephone shall give rise to the issue of a prior quotation. Sending the quotation constitutes only an option on the booking and does not constitute final confirmation of the booking.
2.2 BOOKING
A booking made on the basis of a quotation shall only be considered final by the Campsite after payment of a deposit if the stay begins more than 8 weeks after the quotation is issued, or after payment of the full amount of the stay if the stay begins less than 8 weeks after the quotation is issued.
2.3 PAYMENT OF THE BALANCE
If the booking required the CUSTOMER to pay a deposit, the remaining balance of the stay must be paid in full 30 days before the arrival date.
Failure to pay the balance, after a reminder from the Campsite by any means, shall automatically result in cancellation of the booking and application of the provisions set out in the “Cancellation” section.
2.4 CANCELLATION BY THE CUSTOMER
Any cancellation must be notified to the Campsite in writing, either by post or by email. The date on which the cancellation request is received shall be deemed the effective date.
Any confirmed booking constitutes a firm and definitive commitment by the CUSTOMER.
In the event of cancellation at the CUSTOMER’s initiative, all amounts due or already paid in respect of the stay shall be retained by the Campsite in accordance with the cancellation conditions communicated at the time of booking.
Once the full amount of the stay has become due and has been paid in full, any cancellation, no-show or early termination of the stay at the CUSTOMER’s initiative shall not give rise to any refund, whether in whole or in part, except where otherwise required by mandatory provisions of applicable law.
In particular, no refund may be requested from the Campsite due to personal, family or professional circumstances, transport problems, weather conditions or any other circumstance specific to the CUSTOMER and for which the Campsite is not responsible.
For this reason, the Campsite strongly recommends that the CUSTOMER take out cancellation insurance, which is offered at the time of booking. Depending on the coverage and exclusions provided for in the insurance policy, this insurance may cover all or part of the sums lost in the event of cancellation for a covered reason.
The CUSTOMER’s decision not to take out cancellation insurance shall not entitle them to any refund from the Campsite.
2.5 BOOKING MODIFICATION
No reduction or refund shall be granted in the event of absence, late arrival, early departure, or if all or some of the occupants are absent for one or more nights during their stay.
If the CUSTOMER fails to arrive within 48 hours of the scheduled start of the stay without providing justification and/or informing the Campsite of their arrival, the Campsite shall be free to reallocate the pitch or rental accommodation.
ARTICLE 3: DURING YOUR STAY
3.1 ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES
Rental accommodation is available from 4:00 p.m. on the day of arrival until 10:00 a.m. on the day of departure.
Pitches are available from 12:00 noon on the day of arrival until 12:00 noon on the day of departure.
3.2 LATE ARRIVAL
Any late arrival must be expressly notified to the Campsite.
A late arrival shall not entitle the CUSTOMER to any refund or reduction of the original price of the stay.
3.3 DEPARTURE
Any rental accommodation not vacated and, where applicable, keys not returned, or any pitch not vacated after the times stipulated in the “Arrival and Departure Times” section shall result in the invoicing of an additional night.
Any request to extend a stay must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure date. The Campsite shall not be obliged to accept such a request.
No reduction shall be granted if occupants are absent for one or more nights during their stay or in the event of early departure.
3.4 PETS
Pets are not permitted for stays in rental accommodation.
For stays on pitches, pets are accepted subject to an additional charge per animal and per day, provided they are vaccinated and kept on a leash by an adult.
Category 1 and Category 2 dogs are not permitted.
The CUSTOMER must be able to provide the required vaccination certificates.
The Campsite may refuse admission to any pet owner who fails to comply with this clause.
3.5 CHANGE OF ACCOMMODATION OR PITCH
The Campsite may allocate accommodation or a pitch different from but equivalent to that initially booked where there is a demonstrable need to do so.
3.6 SECURITY DEPOSIT
For rental accommodation, the CUSTOMER shall pay a security deposit upon arrival, the amount of which is determined according to the type of accommodation and is stated on the website leschamberts.com.
An inventory and condition report shall be carried out when the CUSTOMER arrives and when they leave. Each inspection shall take place in the presence of at least one CUSTOMER and one member of Campsite staff.
Any complaint concerning the condition of the accommodation or its inventory must be brought to Management’s attention no later than 2 hours after arrival. After this period, no complaint shall be accepted and the tenant shall therefore be held responsible for any missing items or damage subsequently identified.
The security deposit shall be returned to the CUSTOMER at the end of the stay or no later than 7 days thereafter, less any amount retained to compensate for damage identified during the departure inspection.
Retention of the security deposit shall not prevent the Campsite from claiming additional compensation if the cost of the damage exceeds the amount of the security deposit.
A security deposit may also be requested by Les Chamberts Camping for stays on pitches, for example for group bookings. In such cases, the security deposit shall be returned at the end of the stay or no later than 7 days thereafter, less any compensation for damage caused to communal facilities and notified to the CUSTOMER by email within 3 days following the end of the stay.
3.7 INTERNAL RULES AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Every person staying at the Campsite must read and comply with the Safety Instructions and Internal Rules.
Failure to comply with them may result in permanent exclusion from the Campsite without refund or compensation.
3.8 VISITORS
The CUSTOMER must inform Campsite Management of any visitors.
Visitors must report to reception upon arrival, provide the identity of each person and pay the applicable visitor fee.
ARTICLE 4: PRICES
For bare pitches, the price of the stay includes use of the rented pitch and free access to the Campsite’s sanitary facilities.
For rental accommodation, the price of the stay includes water, electricity and gas under normal conditions of use, free access to the Campsite’s sanitary facilities and use of the rented accommodation in accordance with the quotation, together with all equipment specific to that accommodation as stated on the Campsite’s website at the time of booking.
Any abnormal or disproportionate use of the facilities or equipment may result in additional charges.
The Campsite may also invoice additional amounts where the CUSTOMER has caused a disturbance at the Campsite, damaged rented property or failed to comply with the Internal Rules, by way of compensation for the damage suffered.
Services offered by the Campsite are supplied at the prices displayed on leschamberts.com and according to the quotation issued when the service is booked.
Prices are stated in euros, including VAT.
The CUSTOMER’s attention is drawn to the fact that tourist tax is not included in the price.
Prices are firm and non-revisable during their validity period, which runs from the opening of bookings until the Campsite’s annual closing date. Outside this validity period, the Campsite reserves the right to amend its prices at any time.
Optional services, including but not limited to equipment rental, bed linen and towel hire and catering services, shall be subject to an additional charge according to the rates applicable on leschamberts.com.
ARTICLE 5: PAYMENT TERMS
Payment for services may be made by bank transfer, cheque, credit/debit card, cash or through a card payment platform selected by the Campsite.
The use of such a payment platform does not make the Campsite website an e-commerce website, as the website constitutes a booking platform.
No discount shall be granted by the Campsite for early payment.
ARTICLE 6: RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
Pursuant to Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, due to the nature of the services provided, the CUSTOMER does not have a statutory withdrawal period.
The contract is concluded definitively as soon as the quotation is accepted by the CUSTOMER in accordance with the conditions set out in Article 2.
ARTICLE 7: OBLIGATIONS
7.1 CUSTOMER’S OBLIGATIONS
The CUSTOMER agrees to comply with the number of persons stated in their booking.
The number of persons occupying accommodation or a pitch may not exceed the maximum capacity indicated on leschamberts.com, unless expressly agreed otherwise by the Campsite.
The CUSTOMER undertakes to comply strictly with the Internal Rules.
Any breach by the CUSTOMER or by persons accompanying them shall incur the CUSTOMER’s responsibility.
7.2 CAMPSITE’S OBLIGATIONS
The Campsite undertakes to make its best efforts to ensure compliance with the Internal Rules and to put an end to any disturbance that could adversely affect the CUSTOMER’s stay.
ARTICLE 8: COMPLAINTS
Any complaint relating to the stay must be brought to the attention of Campsite Management as soon as possible.
Management shall endeavour to find a solution promptly.
ARTICLE 9: FORCE MAJEURE
The Campsite shall not be held liable for any disruption, interruption or inability to provide the stay resulting from events that may qualify as force majeure.
Force majeure means any event beyond the Campsite’s control which could not reasonably have been foreseen when the contract was concluded and whose effects could not be avoided through appropriate measures.
Force majeure events may include, without limitation, weather conditions preventing performance of the service, acts of any civil or military authority, whether de facto or de jure, war, mobilisation, uprising, total or partial strikes, fire or flooding, administrative closure, accidents, riots, interruption or delay of transport services, acts of third parties, including the CUSTOMER, or any other external circumstance directly preventing performance of the service.
Any event meeting the legal definition may qualify as force majeure.
In the event of force majeure, the Campsite reserves the right to suspend its obligations without liability for any loss or claim for damages.
Where the force majeure event is temporary, performance of the obligation shall be suspended unless the resulting delay justifies termination of the contract.
Where the impediment is permanent, the contract may be terminated automatically and the parties shall be released from their respective obligations.
ARTICLE 10: HARDSHIP / UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES
The doctrine of unforeseen circumstances provided for under Article 1195 of the French Civil Code is excluded from all service contracts, irrespective of their form, entered into with the Campsite.
ARTICLE 11: LIABILITY
Campsite Management shall not be held responsible for theft, damage or accidents affecting the CUSTOMER’s personal belongings, equipment or vehicles during their stay.
The CUSTOMER is required to take out civil liability insurance to cover such risks.
The CUSTOMER is responsible for any disturbance occurring on the pitch they occupy or in the accommodation they rent during their stay. The Campsite shall not be held liable in this respect.
Visitors remain under the full responsibility of the CUSTOMER receiving them.
The Campsite is responsible for its internal infrastructure and undertakes to make its best efforts to maintain it and ensure the CUSTOMER’s safety during their stay, except where the CUSTOMER, persons accompanying them or property under their responsibility causes the damage.
ARTICLE 12: SAFETY
Any malfunction of electrical or gas appliances and equipment, or of the water supply, must immediately be reported to reception.
In all circumstances, the CUSTOMER must comply with the Safety Instructions displayed in the accommodation and with the Internal Rules.
Use of bunk beds is prohibited for children under 6 years of age.
The use by the CUSTOMER of electric barbecues, planchas, hotplates and charcoal barbecues is strictly prohibited within the Campsite, as well as in the riverside woodland area, beside the river or on the riverbed.
Gas barbecues fitted with a lid are permitted. Campsite Management nevertheless reserves the right to temporarily prohibit their use where there is a legitimate reason to do so.
Any open fire is strictly prohibited within the Campsite, in natural areas, beside the river or on the riverbed.
ARTICLE 13: APPLICABLE LAW
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale and all transactions arising from them are governed by and subject to French law.
If these Terms and Conditions are translated into one or more foreign languages, only the French version shall prevail in the event of a dispute.
ARTICLE 14: DISPUTES
14.1 COMPETENT COURT
Any dispute arising from sales transactions concluded under these General Terms and Conditions of Sale, concerning their validity, interpretation, performance, termination, consequences or aftermath, which cannot be resolved amicably between the Campsite and the CUSTOMER, shall be submitted to the competent courts of Valence (Drôme), France, where the service was provided.
14.2 CONSUMER MEDIATION
The CUSTOMER is informed that, after submitting a written complaint which has not resulted in a satisfactory resolution, they may use a conventional consumer mediation procedure, in particular through the Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice (CM2C), for disputes arising from the sale of goods or provision of services between the CUSTOMER and the Campsite.
Consumer mediation is free of charge for the CUSTOMER and the related costs are borne by the Campsite.

Customers’ personal data is collected and processed by Les Chamberts SARL.
Certain data is essential for managing the CUSTOMER’s booking and may also be used to send information and/or promotional offers.
In accordance with Article 40 of French Law No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978, known as the French “Data Protection Act” (Informatique et Libertés), the CUSTOMER has the right to access, amend, correct and delete their personal data.
